Quiet temperament in the barn. Halter trained and easy to catch.

We regularly walk up to them and put a halter on in the pasture.

Blanket trained—we use horse blankets on our cows so they can enjoy the pasture in all weather.

Used to being milked in a stanchion

Machine milked; still learning to be milked without kicking. We use cow anti-kick rod routinely every milking while she is still learning.

Lucy is currently milking around 5 to 6 gallons a day on twice a day milking. Lucy loves to graze and eat hay and baleage. She is currently eating some 16% feed at milking, plus unlimited pasture and high quality alfalfa baleage.

Her udder is asymmetrical in the rear. We don’t know why. This is just how she has been since she started milking. We have ruled out mastitis with 16-panel PCR test from Central Star.
